Job Description
Treasurer - Board Member
Responsible for managing the organization's finances, including budgeting, grant application, online banking and transactions, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of similar experience in a committee or board (eg. Sports club / NFP organisation / government / business etc). Must have applied bookkeeping software experience. Experience working in leadership position is an asset.

- Experience in preparing and managing budgets, financial reports, and audits.

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial records and transactions.

- Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial members of the organization.

- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations.
- Ability to develop and implement financial strategies.
5. **Proficiency in Financial Software**
- Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
- Familiarity with online banking and financial management tools.
6. **Organizational Skills**
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain detailed and organized financial records.
7. **Ethical Judgment and Integrity**
- High level of integrity and ethical standards in managing the organization’s finances.
- Ability to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
8. **Team Collaboration**
- Ability to work collaboratively with other board members, staff, and volunteers.
- Experience in contributing to the strategic direction of the organization.
9. **Knowledge of Not-for-Profit Financial Practices**
- Understanding of the unique financial management needs and practices of not-for-profit organizations.
- Familiarity with grant management and fundraising financial practices.
